Community Engagement

Life Benefit Solutions is committed to serving Indigenous communities with respect, integrity and accountability. We value our time spent visiting clients, and respect the land, culture and traditions of the Indigenous Peoples.

We recognize that Indigenous communities have distinct needs, and as such, we have developed a comprehensive benefits solution tailored to address the gaps left by government programs. Our time spent in the community has enriched our understanding of local cultures and traditions. By actively listening to community members and understanding their specific needs, we have customized our group benefits program to better serve Indigenous Peoples. Our engagement includes department visits, educational workshops, employee meetings, education seminars, and virtual sessions, ensuring that our work has a meaningful impact.

Life Benefit Solutions acknowledges we work, live and play on Treaty 1 Territory and that Manitoba is located on the Treaty Territories and ancestral lands of the Anishinaabeg, Anishininewuk, Dakota Oyate, Denesuline and Nehethowuk Nations. We acknowledge that Manitoba is located on the Homeland of the Red River Métis. Northern Manitoba includes lands that were and are the ancestral lands of the Inuit. Acknowledging this truth is important yet only a small part in cultivating strong relationships with Indigenous communities.

Taking Action

  • Cultural Education: We provide our team with education on the history, culture, and land of Indigenous Peoples and incorporate cultural awareness training for all staff.
  • Inclusive Recruitment: We partner with local Indigenous employment agencies and colleges to recruit talent at all levels. We pride ourselves on maintaining an inclusive environment and value the diverse perspectives each employee brings.
  • Support for Indigenous Businesses: We support local Indigenous artisans, motivational speakers, and vendors, continually tracking our progress and expanding our network of Indigenous businesses.
  • Community Engagement: Regular on-site visits and education seminars allow us to build strong relationships with community members. We take pride in supporting and participating in community events such as feasts, powwows, and Treaty days.
